“Ted” Acorn's Rough Rider UD OM1 BN RE TD FCAT TKI FTR CCA CGC ASCA CD
🐾 Conformation and Temperament
Ted is a well-balanced Golden Retriever standing 23 inches tall and weighing 63 pounds. He exhibits an athletic build with correct coat texture, ear set, and scissors bite. His rich dark red coloring is complemented by expressive dark eyes. Judges from the CCA have praised his muscular physique, overall correctness, fluid and coordinated gait, and his gentle, engaging expression.
Ted embodies the quintessential Golden Retriever temperament. He is exceptionally friendly, eager to interact with everyone he meets, and displays a joyful, affectionate nature. Highly biddable and motivated by tug toys, Ted learns quickly and enthusiastically. At home, he is a beloved companion—affectionate, playful, and gentle. He coexists harmoniously with other dogs, cats, and livestock, and delights in a spirited game of tug, which he enjoys even more than treats.
🏆 Competition Achievements
Ted’s competitive career began with remarkable promise, earning his Tracking Dog title at just 6 months and 1 week old. He entered the obedience ring in earnest at age three, swiftly completing his CDX and UD titles within a few months. On the day he earned his UD, he also secured his first OTCH points.
Since then, Ted has garnered multiple High in Trial and High Combined honors and has been inducted into the GRCA Obedience Hall of Fame. He currently holds 43 OTCH points and has surpassed the required number of wins. While he enjoys rally, we are prioritizing his OTCH completion before resuming regular competition in that venue.
As always, both sire and dam are fully health tested according to GRCA standards and have their OFA CHIC # (click link below for proof)

Kit has medium food drive, and high toy drive. She is a LOT of dog. She is not for a family with small children. This girl needs a job. She would excel in USAR, search and rescue, detection, agility, etc. You will have to work with this dog daily to fulfill her. She will not be satisfied with a food puzzle. This girl LOVES doing things. See Instagram for video. She is started on crate training, potty training, luring for food, engagement work, retrieving and basic drive building. NOT a service dog prospect. She has had her second round of vaccines, is microchipped, and dewormed.
Our goal is to create an all around best friend with grit and grace. What does that mean? It means we want dogs that are brave, can handle environmental stress with ease, genuinely enjoy working with their people(whether that's in hunt training, service work, or a game of fetch), and are social butterflies. Dogs are a combination of genetics and raising/training, and we are here to help with both!
Nicole and Danielle have been involved in dogs for many years, and collaborate together to create great dogs. Both Nicole and Danielle came into this as professional dog trainers first. We not only breed with the goal of continuously improving the health and quality of the breed we all know and love, we also have the unique perspective of understanding what pet owners are looking for in a dog. We understand what they are hoping to do with their dog and strive to match each of our owners with the best dog for them and their family.
We've both trained many dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. We believe the Golden Retriever to be the best all-around dog a family can have and are striving to create just that!
